SARA EVANS SHIMMIES AND CHASSES HER WAY TO THE PREMIERE EPISODE OF ABC’S DANCING WITH THE STARS ON SEPTEMBER 12

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 8, 2006

Nashville, TN -- Multi-platinum country superstar Sara Evans will make her dancing debut on ABC’s hit show Dancing With The Stars this Tuesday, September 12 (8-10PM, ET) on ABC. The show will feature Evans performing live choreographed Latin and traditional ballroom dance routines to popular live music with her dance partner, Tony Dovolani, who this week was named the undefeated United States American Rhythm Champion.

Each week, Evans and Dovolani, along with 10 other couples, will be judged by an expert panel including former ballroom dancer Len Goodman, dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. The viewing public also gets to weigh in by voting via phone or online for their favorite performers. The judges’ and public’s votes are combined and the outcome will be announced during a results show every Wednesday.

Voting begins each night at the start of the show and the phone lines are open until 30 minutes after the show ends. Online votes will be collected until 12pm ET on the day of the results show (Wednesdays) and can be entered at http://abc.go.com/primetime/dancing/. Fans can sign up at www.dancingwithsara.com to receive blogs from Sara about her experience as she moves through the competition as well as exclusive behind the scenes photos.

Tony Dovolani will be making a visit to Nashville on September 17 where he will be modeling in Fashion For Everybody hosted by Sara Evans, a fundraiser benefiting The Sara Evans Fund and Eating Disorder Coalition of Tennessee. Additionally, he has agreed to donate one two-hour dance lesson to the highest bidder during an auction that evening. Limited seats are available at www.ticketmaster.com. After watching a close friend battle a life threatening eating disorder, Evans, a mother of three children (a son and two daughters) made the decision to devote herself to the cause and was named an official ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) earlier this year.
