Nashville, Tenn. (December 13, 2006) - 2006 was another big year for Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Miranda Lambert, but as the old saying goes "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" This past year, the two-time CMA Horizon nominee witnessed many more milestones in her career. She has toured with some of country music's biggest names, watched her debut album Kerosene nearing platinum status, and wowed critics, peers and fans with performances on Austin City Limits, Good Morning America, CMA Music Festival and every major country music awards show. Her 2006 successes continue a streak of accolades from her 2005 debut but only scratch the surface of what's to come for Lambert in the New Year.
In 2007, Miranda will fan the flames of Kerosene with her new single "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," new album Gunpowder & Lead, new "tricked out" tour bus and exciting new tour plans. She joins an elite group of country women as a Grammy nominee for "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" for "Kerosene" and has also been selected to perform at the prestigious Country Radio Seminar's New Faces Banquet on March 2nd.
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," the new single from her upcoming sophomore album goes for adds January 8th but the song, debuted on the 40th Annual CMA Awards, is already getting rave reviews. Village Voice says "Miranda Lambert single handedly saves the show" and Dallas Morning News writes, "Lindale's Miranda Lambert can now be dubbed country music's official firecracker. She's all country-rocking energy." "It definitely woke up the CMA audience but was little more than a typical energetic flourish for Lambert..." writes Waco Tribune.
Gunpowder & Lead will be released early spring 2007. Lambert again wrote or co-wrote the bulk of the album's songs - eight of the eleven tracks - but she also interprets the work of some of the world's finest writers, including Gillian Welch, Patty Griffin, and Carlene Carter.
"You can take each song on this album and compare it to the first record, and I feel it's an upgrade," says Lambert. "It shows two years of growth. I also let people in a lot more than I did on the last record - so I'm a little scared, but I'm proud."
Miranda Lambert recently toured with Keith Urban, George Strait, Jason Aldean, and Dierks Bentley. In early 2007 Miranda will share the stage with yet another major country star. The official announcement will be released soon.
In keeping with the "new" theme, this time around Miranda will finally have her very own "home away from home" done rockstar style! Junk Gypsy is partnering with Diamond Coach to bring Miranda an all new totally Gypsyfied bus! It's all top secret - even Miranda is in the dark - but the Junk Gypsies (2 sisters and their mom), are well-known for their exotic and eclectic gypsy style and promise a deluxe touring haven even Jimi Hendrix would envy.
Though the sun hasn't yet set on 2006, the sky is the limit in the coming year for this country starlet and she will travel in style on her road to taking country music by storm!
