Current Single “Way Out Here” Is Top 20 And Climbing
For Immediate Release
August 11, 2010
This Sunday, August 15th, Columbia Nashville recording artist Josh Thompson will perform with Lynyrd Skynyrd at the “Rock The Beach” free concert. This is the second installment of the free concert series held to promote tourism. The Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council and Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau hope the concert will bring another economic boost to the area to help offset the oil spill crisis. The show takes place in Destin, FL at 6pm on the beach behind the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Donations made at the concert will be accepted for the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge.
“Playing ‘Rock The Beach’ is exciting to me for two reasons,” Thompson says of the upcoming show. “First, I have watched the news and seen the devastation that has been going on in the Gulf for months. To have the chance to be a part of something that will in some way, hopefully a big way, help with the recovery is amazing. And second, I get to share a stage with Lynyrd Skynard – what can you say about that except ‘AWESOME!’”
Josh Thompson is spending most of his hot summer days with Brad Paisley on the H20 World Tour, which made a splash in Dallas, Texas last weekend. Despite the 110 degree heat, fans packed into the amphitheatre early and were treated to a special treat. For the second time on this tour, Paisley joined Thompson on the Water World Plaza stage for an impromptu guitar jam, and the pair played a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” which lasted for almost ten minutes!
Josh will continue to tour with Brad Paisley through September, and will join the Hank Williams Jr. “Rowdy Friends Tour,” with Jamey Johnson in the fall. Josh Thompson’s second single and his debut album’s title track, “Way Out Here,” is currently Top 20 and climbing. Way Out Here is available in stores now.
